I’ve also kept tabs on retail and sale pricing in the weeks leading up to Cyber Week 2024 in order to find actual deals and not false discounts where games and consoles are marked up and then “reduced” to their original retail price to fool consumers. 

Do I need a PlayStation Plus subscription to buy games from the PlayStation Store?

Nope! The PS Store is free to access for anyone as long as you have a PlayStation console and online account. The PS Store has monthly rotating deals, a category for games under $20, fan-favorite titles, and even a select back catalog of classic PS1/2/3 games. But suppose you want access to even better discounts and exclusive free games every month, along with online multiplayer. In that case, it’s worth at least investing in the PlayStation Plus Essential membership, which is the basic package. The PlayStation Plus Extra tier gives you access to the entire PS4 catalog, and the Premium membership gives you access to the entire Classics Catalogue as well as exclusive demos and discounts. 

Right now, you can save 30% on a PS Plus Premium membership when billed annually, bringing the yearly subscription price to just $112, then $160 per year after that. You can also save 25% on the PS Plus Extra tier (again, when billed yearly), which brings the price to $101, then $135 annually after that.
